WOOD: Looking to Improve at Memphis
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

For the first time this season Keven Wood is going back to a track that he's raced on before. This will be his second truck race at Memphis Motorsports Park and he hopes to improve on his 2007 21st place finish.

Since Keven is familiar with Memphis Motorsports Park, the Wood Brothers Racing no. 21 team can focus immediately on qualifying and race setups for the U.S. Air Force F-150 during practice without needing to use laps to acclimate to the track. Wood is looking forward to running in the O'Reilly 200 this weekend. Keven said, "I feel more confident going to Memphis. It's the first time this season that I'm going to a track where I've run before. I'm really looking forward to it."

Keven is also looking forward to some family support in Memphis, he added, "I'm looking forward to representing the U.S. Air Force again this weekend and my dad [Co-Owner Len Wood] is going to be there -- that's a big boost. I want to do good job for the Air Force, the team and him-- I really look forward to his support."

Keven and the Wood Brothers Racing team are also looking to improve on their finish from last weekend and believe they found what was causing the ill handling condition in the no. 21 race truck. Keven commented on the discovery of a chassis issue, "We found some issues with the chassis and even though it was unfortunate that we had a problem in Milwaukee, it's much more fortunate that we found it and it won't be a mystery going into this weekend at Memphis. I want to continue to build on better finishes and improve every week; I feel confident that we have the ability to do that this weekend."

Watch Keven Wood and the Wood Brothers Racing no. 21 U.S. Air Force F-150 race in the O'Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park on Saturday, June 26th.
