News and Notes:

The Virginia native will be making his ninth NASCAR start at Memphis Motorsports Park this weekend. He has five Nationwide and three Craftsman Truck Series starts to his credit.  He has scored one top-five and one top-10 finish in those three truck starts.

The No. 4 Dodge will be showcasing the Red River Dodge paint scheme Saturday night. The Red River Dodge dealership was the outstanding sales performer selling more Dodge vehicles than all the surrounding dealerships thus winning the prize to sponsor Compton's No. 4 Dodge Ram this weekend.

Compton will pilot "Slim" this weekend at Memphis. He drove this particular chassis last weekend in Milwaukee and in May at Mansfield Motorsports Park to a 10th place finish. As one of the oldest chassis in the race shop "Slim" earned his namesake from the late Bobby Hamilton who loved the hit song "The Real Slim Shady," by rapper Eninem.   Hamilton won in this particular truck, which was the first in house chassis at BHR, in Memphis in 2004.

A Look Back: The late Bobby Hamilton Sr. scored his sixth NCTS victory at Memphis in 2004. He went on to score two more victories after Memphis and the series point's championship later that season. 

NASCAR Fan's Most Dedicated: "I have always said that NASCAR has the most dedicated fans in all of the sports industry. Not only do they show up rain or shine, but they continue to spend the money to come to the events despite the increase in fuel prices this summer. This past weekend in Milwaukee the fans were awesome. The stands were filled despite the dark rain clouds that hung over the track before the race started. When the rain came with about 50 laps left in the race they had to evacuate out of the bleachers due to extreme lighting. They stayed there until the race was restarted. I just love that about our sport. I know how bad the fuel prices are affecting our race team's travel budget so I know without a doubt our fans pockets are feeling the same hit. The truck series is a great fit for families right now on a budget. The races are short enough for a child's attention span and the ticket prices are very reasonable. This weekend in Memphis we will do one of our largest autograph sessions of the season. It is a small way we can say thank you to the fans for coming out and supporting us."
