The # 40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet has another great showing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but fell victim to a late race accident. In what was building up to be a great weekend for the Key Motorsports Chevrolet, this week driven by NASCAR rookie driver Paul Poulter and spotted by current Key Motorsports driver Chad Chaffin, the wreck spoiled a good run and finish for the driver and crew.

With a race threatened by severe weather, which led to NASCAR red-flagging with 50 laps remaining, a variety of issues ended the night early for several teams. But for the Key Motorsports Chevrolet, the crews' continuous hard work as well as driving knowledge from both Poulter and Chaffin allowed the team to salvage a 30th place finishing position.

This was Poulter's first NASCAR start, and second fielding a Key Motorsports Chevrolet, as he completed a test session with the team earlier in the year.

"Paul is a talented driver with great experience, although not within NASCAR or the Craftsman Truck Series. He did really well," stated Crew Chief Lance Hooper. "The team worked well with him being a rookie driver, never have performed pit stops, etc. but overall everyone did a great job. We were just an unfortunate victim of circumstance."

Driver Paul Poulter was fairly satisfied with the weekend's results. "The truck drove really well and Lance and the entire crew did a really well job. I was extremely happy with the effort put forth by the entire team. Of course with this being my first race the goal was to get a good finish and crossing the finish line in one piece. I really like NASCAR and the entire way it works."

Key Motorsports driver Chaffin, who held double duty for the weekend as spotter and mentor for Poulter, thought "Paul did a fine job. Obviously he is an experienced driver, especially on oval tracks, so he adapted pretty well. My job was to help him understand the procedural side of NASCAR, and I thought he did a good job."

The team is looking forward to continue building this weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park, where "hometown" driver Chad Chaffin will take back the reigns of the Key Motorsports Chevrolet.
