Todd Bodine drove the no. 30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra to a top-five finish for the third straight weekend. Bodine finished fifth and collected key bonus points for leading some laps in Friday night's Camping World RV Sales 200 at The Milwaukee Mile. The performance kept Bodine second in the championship points standings.
"The Lumber Liquidators Tundra pit crew did an awesome job tonight gaining spots on pit road for us. Our no. 30 Tundra was OK. It was a little tight in the middle and a little loose off. We probably weren't a winning truck tonight, but we deserved another top-five finish this week, for sure," said Bodine, who knifed his way through a nine-truck pileup at the halfway point of Friday's 200-mile race.
"We cut down a left rear tire getting through that crash which put us back to tenth. We just kept the nose clean on the Lumber Liquidators Tundra and got the best finish we could," said Bodine.
In the closest championship battle in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history, Todd Bodine is ranked second in the driver's standings, 50 points behind the leader after 11 of 25 races.
Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. is proud of the team's efforts leading into Milwaukee.
"This year, we want another Truck Series championship. The Germain Racing guys back at the shop and here on the road have really stepped up their performance and we've collected three top-five finishes in our last three races with the Lumber Liquidators Tundra. We have to keep it up next week when we get to Memphis," said Hillman Jr.
Next up for the Lumber Liquidators Tundra is Memphis Motorsports Park. In 2007, the no. 30 crew collected their best-ever finish at Memphis, eighth, while their Germain Racing teammates on the no. 9 Tundra earned their first-ever Truck Series pole award and collected the WIX Filters Lap Leader award in a near-winning performance.
