Heading into the Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Park, David Starr and the No.11 Red Horse Racing team were once again flying the colors of PIT Corporate Training and looking to keep their impressive short-track record intact. Starr, crew chief Jamie Jones, and the No. 11 Toyota Tundra team used pit strategy and a dominating truck to lead 170 of the 250-lap race, but departed Mansfield with heartbreak as Starr was passed on the last lap for the win, leaving the No. 11 Red Horse Racing team with a second place finish.

During qualifying Friday night, Starr laid down an impressive lap of 16.461 seconds at 109.349 mph, putting the No. 11 PIT Corporate Training Toyota Tundra in the third starting position for Saturday afternoon's 250-lap race. As the first caution came out on lap 8, Starr, running in the third position, radioed to his crew that his Toyota Tundra was "not bad, just a little tight in the center of the corner." When the caution flew again, Jamie Jones brought Starr to pit road for their one and only pit stop, taking four tires and gas on lap 39. Starr restarted on lap 44 from the 21st position, as only a few other trucks took the chance to pit.

Being in the back half of the field, Starr used patience to work his way back up to the front, while being reminded to save as much fuel as possible. By lap 77, all 36 trucks had made their one scheduled pit stop, putting the No. 11 PIT Corporate Training Toyota Tundra in the second position. A quick caution came out on lap 81 as Starr made slight contact with the leader, which relinquished the lead to the Houston, Texas native.

Starr went on to lead the next 170 laps, showing that the Jamie Jones led Red Horse Racing team had their short-track magic working once again at Mansfield. As the white flag flew for the final lap around the half-mile short-track, Starr received major contact from the truck behind him and was passed coming out of turn four, which left the Red Horse Racing team heartbroken and the No. 11 PIT Corporate Training Toyota Tundra finishing in the second position. It was Starr's second top-five finish of the season and his fourth top-ten finish at Mansfield Motorsports Park.

"It was just good short-track racing. He (Donny Lia) got a run underneath us, I guess," said Starr. "I left a hole open, and he got into me in the left-rear, as you can see. It's all beat up back there. It was just enough to break my momentum. Once we broke the momentum, we broke traction in the rear. We just drove into turn three on a prayer. He had the preferred line. It was a great race. I just feel bad for this Red Horse Racing team. They did a heck of a job. Jamie Jones did a heck of a job. We had a good truck the whole race, we just didn't finish it off. Not a bad finish, but we're disappointed. We thought we should've won the race. That's just good short-track action. You just never know what's going to happen until the end."

With the strong but disappointing second place finish, Starr and the No. 11 Red Horse Racing team moved up six spots to the eighth position in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship standings. He is just 24 points out of fifth and 88 points behind Todd Bodine for the lead.

"We didn't pick up the win, but this truck was awesome," Starr said. "These guys are working hard to get our season turned around. Man, I'm just disappointed. I still wish we could back that up a couple of laps, but we can't. But, it was not a bad finish. We'll just keep digging from this point on."
