Dennis Setzer survived a green-white-checker finish to claim victory in the Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Saturday at Martinsville Speedway.

By putting his Duck Head Footwear/Aquadock Dodge Ram into victory lane, Setzer gave Dodge its first NCTS victory since 2005.

Finishing behind Setzer were Matt Crafton in the Menards/Ideal Door Chevrolet Silverado, Rick Crawford in the Power Stroke Diesel by International Ford, Ken Schrader in the Federated Auto Parts Toyota and Erik Darnell In the Northern Tool + Equipment Ford.

Setzer prevailed in a single-file restart. Not so happy was Mike Skinner, who was in third place when Busch dumped him on Lap 248. But it wasn't Busch's fault, as Skinner ran out of gas. But on the green-white-checkered, Busch dumped Johnny Benson going for second place, knocking both trucks out.

It was that kind of race.

Jack Sprague took the lead at the start, with his Kevin Harvick Inc. teammate Ron Hornaday Jr. a close second. The two switched places on Lap 5, when Sprague let his teammate by to lead one lap and earn five bonus points.

They stayed that way until Lap 30, when Sprague got caught in heavy lapped traffic and was passed by both Hornaday and Denny Hamlin. Two laps later, the Sprint Cup regular moved by the reigning NCTS champion to take over the top spot for the first time.

Following a caution, Hornaday tried to muscle by Hamlin with one of his patented great restarts on Lap 67, but Hamlin was having none of it and continued to hold away up front.

The first real crash of the day came on Lap 79, when Ted Musgrave put Andy Lally into the Turn 3 fence. The leaders all pitted subsequently and Sprague had a terrible stop outside his box. He dropped all the way to 23rd. The leaders were now Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Ken Schrader and Chad McCumbee.

Teammates once again did the points swap for a lap as Hamlin, driving a Billy Ballew Toyota, let Busch by him for one lap before reassuming the point. But Busch wasn't content to lay back and went back out front on Lap 97.

After Philip McGilton spun in Turn 1 to bring out a yellow on Lap 103, Hamlin pitted, while Busch stayed out. On Lap 108, Busch took off from the green, this time with Dennis Setzer and Brendan Gaughan in pursuit. But on Lap 128, Busch ran into the back of Brent Raymer who spun in front of Busch, forcing him to slam on the binders and come to a halt.

After the caution flew, Busch, Hornaday and a number of other drivers came down pit road for gas and tires. That handed the lead to Setzer, ahead of Gaughan, Johnny Benson, Mike Skinner and Starr.

The track went green again on Lap 135, but a big pile-up in Turn 3 two laps later damaged the trucks of Sprague, Timothy Peters, Jon Wood and Stacy Compton. On Lap 144, NASCAR threw the red flag because of debris on the track.

Setzer was out front on Lap 149, when the yellow was lifted.  At this point, Hamlin started complaining of his handling going away, possibly because of a broken suspension component.

McGilton spun again in Lap 164, bringing out another caution. On the Lap 169 restart, the order was Setzer, Gaughan, Benson, Skinner, Starr and Busch.

After another caution, Busch muscled Starr out of the way and took fifth place on Lap 191. The order stayed the same until Gaughan pitted under caution for gas on Lap 221. That left Setzer ahead of Benson, Skinner, Busch and Rick Crawford.

The race restarted on Lap 223, but 10 laps later, Chrissy Wallace tapped Scott Lagasse Jr. in Turn 3 to bring out the 13th caution of the race. Pole-sitter Sprague crashed on the backstretch on Lap 239 and was struck by Shelby Howard, bringing out the day's second red flag.
