MUSGRAVE: Pumped Up for Martinsville

Ted Musgrave on Racing at Martinsville Speedway:   "This is a track a lot like Bristol in one respect: you can have a dominant truck all day long and be leading by a lap and having something totally out of your control jump up and get you. We've had those things happen to us in the past. We were leading one race going away and ended up getting taken out by a lapped truck with a few laps left.

"We've always been decent at Martinsville but for whatever reason the wins have eluded us. Sometimes it's been things outside of our control and sometimes it's been things within our control. We have a couple of chances a year to win there and hopefully this year we finally get that win."

Musgrave on Keys to Success at Martinsville:  "You can be three tenths quicker than the truck in front of you and not be able to pass him. So what you want to do is make it so you don't have to deal with that. Track position is so important there. Patience is important too. You want to qualify good so you don't have to come from the back and deal with getting your fenders knocked off."

Musgrave on HT Motorsports' Strong Run at Martinsville Last Fall:  "The team had a great run at Martinsville last October with Terry Cook driving. They led a lot of laps and looked like they had a real shot to win. I know they're hungry, and being based right here in Martinsville has them all pumped up."

Musgrave on Recent Test at Martinsville: "We had a great test. With all of the changes from last year to this year the setup has totally changed. The engine guys have been working overtime to deal with the new spacer plate we're running now. We don't have the power we used to have getting off the corner so that's going to make everyone that much more aggressive. And since we don't have the power you're trying to carry more speed into the corner so brakes are going to be a real premium too."

Musgrave on What to Expect at Martinsville:  "You can expect a full-out brawl for 250 laps. The engine rules and gear rule have cut the power and RPM so everyone is going to be beating and banging all day long trying to get to the front any way they can. I think you'll see a lot of aggression all weekend. Probably before, during, and even after the race."
