Previously at Atlanta: Ron Hornaday scored a second-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway back on March 7, 2008, in the American Commercial Lines 200. After starting the race from the pole position, Hornaday led 81 of the 130 laps; a track record for a NASCAR Truck Series race. After a caution came out late in the race for rain, Hornaday opted to pit for four tires and fuel. Once the race was restarted on lap 124, he battled back from the fifth spot to challenge Kyle Busch for the win but had to settle into the second position as he crossed the start-finish line on the final lap. The second-place finish was the second consecutive top-five finish for Hornaday in the 2008 season and his second consecutive runner-up finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

KHI And VFW "Band" Together To Support Our Troops: Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) have joined forces for the 2008 NASCAR race season. The VFW will be the primary sponsor on the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado of Ron Hornaday for four NASCAR Truck Series races (Martinsville, ORP, Nashville and Atlanta), including this weekend at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. The VFW will also be the primary sponsor on the No. 77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Hornaday and Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year contender Cale Gale, in four NASCAR Nationwide Series races (Charlotte, Daytona, Kansas and Texas) in 2008.  As a way of showing support for America's Armed Forces, members of KHI's teams have been wearing red "Support Our Troops" wristbands.

Hornaday Looking For Number One At Martinsville: Martinsville (Va.) Speedway is one of only 10 current tracks on the Truck Series schedule that Hornaday has not yet picked up a win at, but he is looking to add the half-mile track to long list of tracks where he has wins. This week will mark Hornaday's 12th start at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in his Truck Series career. In his 11 previous starts, Hornaday has scored four top-five and six top-ten finishes. In last October's Kroger 200, Hornaday survived a caution-filled race to score a third-place finish en route to the 2007 NASCAR Truck Series championship.

From The Driver's Seat - Quotes From Ron Hornaday: On racing at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway: "Martinsville always has some of the best racing. It is a flat, short track that has a little bit of banking in the turns but the straight-aways are just flat. You definitely have to have good brakes at Martinsville. I know it sounds weird, but the better brakes you have there, the better you can get around the track. And you have time your braking just right when you go into the turns. Overall, I have had some success at Martinsville, but I have never won there so I am looking to change that."

On how the 2008 season is going so far: "We're doing really well I think. I know we've only run a few races, but I think we are better than we were at this point last year. KHI has come a long way and I am very proud to be a part of this organization and drive for Kevin and DeLana Harvick and this whole team that we have here."

Atop The Pit Box - Quotes from Rick Ren: On what it takes to visit Victory Lane at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway: "Martinsville Speedway is tough on race car, race truck, anything that races there. That is one place that you have to take really good care of your brakes if you want to have a chance of winning. Being up front is also where you want to be because it can be hard to pass at times because there is not that much room to pass on that track. You have to time it just right with your braking going into the turns and be in the right groove to pull off a pass. It makes for great short-track racing, which Martinsville is known for almost as much as they are known for that hot dog."

On how the 2008 season is going so far: "As far as track performance, we are on our game. We have not been able to get the finishes we want, but we have been fast every week. We had a great truck at Daytona and could have won that race, but we had the mechanical issue. We were fast at California and came away with a fifth-place finish. We were fastest all day at Atlanta and dominated the race, led 81 laps and the rain came and messed us up a little. We still finished second, but we had a winning truck. I'm just so proud of these guys. They put so much hard work into these trucks to make them fast. Then Ron gets in there and drives his heart out for us. That what it takes to be a championship-caliber program."
