NOTES: This week's race truck for Martinsville Speedway is Chassis No. 22-102. This truck saw action a few times last year, as well as during Phillip McGilton's test with it at Martinsville Speedway a few weeks ago.
Newbie
This will be McGilton's first time racing on the half-mile Martinsville Speedway.
Great Start
Even though McGilton has only three career NASCAR starts, he seems like a veteran on the track and has gained much respect from his competitors. The Raybestos Rookie captured his first top-10 finish a few weeks ago at California Speedway and is currently ranked 10th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship standings. He is also only one point out of the lead in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year Standings.
Tested and Approved
McGilton, his No. 22 crew and his fellow BDR teammates spent time two weeks ago preparing for this race during a test session at Martinsville Speedway.
Listen and watch
The Kroger 250 is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. ET Saturday, March 29. It will broadcast live on the FOX Channel (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).
Phillip McGilton has no stats for Martinsville Speedway.
Phillip McGilton's Racing Quotes:
Phillip McGilton on racing at Martinsville Speedway: "Martinsville should be a lot of fun. I haven't raced on a short track in a truck yet, but I have tested at Martinsville two weeks ago. So it should be pretty interesting. We have run well so far this year, and I hope to keep it this hot streak going. We are in the top-10 and one point out of the lead in the rookie standings. Hopefully we can move up a bit after Saturday afternoon."
Crew Chief Doug Wolcott's Racing Quotes:
Doug Wolcott on racing at Martinsville Speedway: "I think it is going to be a very tough race. Qualifying is going to paramount. We struggled a little bit during the two-day test trying to get the truck to pivot in the center of the corner, but the guys have worked on it a lot, and we should be good to go for the race. Martinsville is one of my favorite tracks, and we would really like to come out of there with a good finish, preferably a top-10. We finished well here last year with Tyler (Walker), and we hope to better that mark here this weekend."
