Starting off the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 2008 season with one win and one runner-up finish, Todd Bodine and the #30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra crew are focused and ready for Atlanta Motor Speedway's Friday night 'fight.' For 130 laps, expect more of the same top-notch performance out of the Germain Racing #30 effort.
"We had a solid run at California, just came up a bit short of the win. This Lumber Liquidators Tundra has been strong each week. We're taking the same Tundra to Atlanta that we raced at California and it was pretty good in the Atlanta test," said Bodine. "We'll try to improve on what we've got and come out of Atlanta with another win, to celebrate the second anniversary of Lumber Liquidators coming on board our #30 Tundra."
Mike Hillman Sr., general manager for Germain Racing, will continue to serve as interim crew chief for Bodine while crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. continues to work on things from the home front.
"We have filed an appeal with the National Stock Car Racing Commission, which means I can come to the track this week, but I have chosen to stay back at the shop and continue to serve the penalty as NASCAR described," said Hillman Jr. who is serving a four-race suspension based on penalties assigned by NASCAR for pre-qualifying technical infractions at Daytona.
For the #30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra, goals set out to start this season are still as fresh as if it were January 1st. The team is committed to making a championship run and collecting as many wins as possible along the way. According to Hillman Jr., the chemistry and the Tundras are all on task.
"Our performances this year are based on a combination of the setup, the aero package on these trucks has gotten better, and communication. Driver-crew chief communication is the best it's ever been. After testing at Atlanta, we have very high expectations for the American Commercial Lines 200 and for the Lumber Liquidators Tundra for the rest of the season," said Hillman Jr.
