TEAM NEWS: BHR VA Names Wilson Head of R&D Department

Bobby Hamilton Racing announced today the addition of Charlie Wilson to its teams No. 4 and No. 18 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams roster . With over seven years experience in the NASCAR industry Wilson assumes the role of Director of Competition overseeing the team's research and development program.

"When the team moved to this area, we started looking for employees to hire and several people told me I should talk to Charlie (Wilson)," said Stacy Compton, driver of the No. 4 Dodge Dealers Dodge. "But it wasn't until I had the chance to sit down with him face to face that I realized how much of an asset he would be to our team. When I shared with him what we trying to do here and where we wanted to go, he fit that mold perfectly. He has been in our race shop only four days and I can already see him making a big difference."

Wilson took over the position at BHRVA after working at Kevin Harvick Inc. for the past two seasons. Before making the jump to KHI he called former truck team Orleans Racing his home for three years. Wilson scored his first NCTS victory with driver Steve Park behind the wheel at the Auto Club Speedway in 2005, beating out Bobby Hamilton Sr. for the checkered.

"It is always tough when you leave any organization you have called home for some time," said Wilson. "This presented a new challenge and a new opportunity for me. I really wanted the chance to work with Dodge Motorsports again. I worked with them at Orleans Racing and they have brought their truck program a long way. BHR has a historic past and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with them."

Wilson will help lead the No. 18 and No. 4 Dodge's during the 2008 season who currently sits eighth and tenth, respectively, in the NCTS owner standings.
