The Virginia native will be making his 17th NASCAR start this weekend at California. Compton has scored top-five finishes in both the Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at California speedway.

Compton will be sporting the Carl Burger's Dodge paint scheme this weekend at California. The Carl Burger's Dodge dealership won the recent Dodge Dealers California promotion during January. Dodge challenged the top 20 Southern California dealers to sell the most Dodge vehicles during January.  Carl Burger's Dodge won by attaining the highest percentage of their Dodge sales objective for that month and won their name on the No. 4 Dodge Ram truck.  

Compton will pilot "SLIM" this weekend at California. This particular chassis was primarily a short track truck at BHR until this winter.  After spending a lot of time in the wind tunnel, Slim received a makeover and will now serve as an intermediate truck. 

A Look Back:  Compton's sixth place finish last Friday night at Daytona was the best Daytona finish for Bobby Hamilton Racing since Bobby Hamilton Sr. won the event in 2005.          

Better with Age: "I love racing at California Speedway. It just gets better with age. I have always been a big fan of tracks that have a little wear and tear on them. The track has gotten slicker was the age on it and that fits my driving style. At California we can race the top, middle and bottom lanes and for a driver that is so much fun. It allows us to be able to use our driving skills to adapt to how our trucks are handling.  If my truck is not working well on the bottom then I can move to the middle or bottom lane. When you give drivers options it normally makes for better racing, or sometimes it can make it worse."

Smaller Fuel Cell Makes for Better Racing: "Last week at Daytona was the first race we ran the smaller fuel cells in the trucks. On first impression, it was one of the best decisions NASCAR has made.  It put strategy back into the races.  Last year several times the trucks made only one pit stop or even no pit stops during the races since our races are much shorter compared to the Nationwide Series and the Sprint Cup Series. That really took away the importance of pit road for the drivers, teams and the fans. So, I think by making our fuel cell smaller it will only make our racing even better. Fuel mileage has always been an issue at California because it is a two-mile oval, but throw in the smaller fuel cell and it becomes a larger issue. It should be pretty interesting on Saturday."
