BUSCH: Cup Regular Has 11 Starts at PIR
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Billy Ballew Motorsports and Kyle Busch bring experience to the Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) this week for the running of the Casino 150, (150 laps, 150 miles) NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on the 1-mile tight cornered track just outside Phoenix, Arizona.

Billy Ballew Motorsports has eight previous NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at the Phoenix International Raceway with a best finish of fourth in 2005.  Busch has eleven starts at the Phoenix International Raceway including five NASCAR NEXTEL Cup starts with one pole, one win, one top-5 and three top-10 finishes. In the Busch Series he has four starts, two poles, one top-5 and two top-10 finishes.  Busch has two starts for Billy Ballew Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series where he posted a best finish of ninth in 2006.

After a blown engine made for a disappointing day in Texas last week, the team shook it off by doing a little short track racing..   Busch will bring crew chief, Richie Wauters and some of the other Billy Ballew Motorsports team to the Annual Fall Classic Presented By Bank Of America this weekend at the Bullring at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Busch will drive the No. 51 Super Late Model Saturday night.  The team has been practicing in Las Vegas and will be familiar with the route between there and Phoenix before Saturday night's race at the Bullring.

"We had a dominant truck last week in Texas until the engine blew," Busch said.  "It makes it disappointing because these guys work so hard on these trucks week in and week out.  I'd like to put Flanders Beef Patties in Victory Lane before the season is over and hope to do it this weekend in Phoenix. I enjoy Phoenix but setup is key to be able to get the truck to turn and if you can get it to turn and hopefully being able to get it to drive up off the corner straight and not sideways. I've had some good runs in the truck and in the Cup and Busch cars at Phoenix so I'm hoping to give Billy Ballew another victory this weekend."

Flanders Beef Patties will be the primary sponsor for the No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman Truck in the 24th race of the 25 race 2007 season at the Phoenix International Raceway.  The Casino Arizona 150 (150 laps, 150 miles) race is slated to begin at 6:00pm MT (8:00pm ET) Friday, November 9.  The race will be televised live beginning at 5:30pm MT (7:30 ET) on SPEED with radio coverage beginning at 5:45pm MT (7:45pm ET) on MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio.
