| LATE MODEL: McCord Dedicates Motorplex Victory to Late Hamilton

Skip McCord picked the perfect time to win his first late model race at the Music City Motorplex. McCord passed NASCAR Craftsman Truck rookie Willie Allen after a caution with 20 laps to go Sunday to win the Late Model 200 to conclude the Southern 300 and win the Bobby Hamilton Sr. Cup. "This means a lot period just to win this race," said McCord, a fabricator for Bobby Hamilton Racing. "Bobby was a mentor to me. "I knew Bobby pretty well. He had a big hand in helping me get started. I learned some valuable lessons from him." D.W. Shacklett, who also is a BHR Racing fabricator, finished third.
