Truth be told, I've always been a MoPar guy. You'll have that growing up in a household where your father is a 20-year employee of Chrysler Corporation. In my world, Camaros, Mustangs and all other incarnations of Detroit 'Pony Car' iron always ran a distant second to Chargers, Cudas, Challengers and Road Runners.

That said, in later years, I've come to appreciate those other nameplates, especially the Camaro after securing a 1979 model for my then teenage son six years ago. Getting a close up look at the car - from the driver's seat and from my son's love of the car - gave me a whole new perspective on the legendary Chevy.

It's with that backdrop that I eagerly read Darwin Holmstrom's latest work - Camaro Forty Years. Published by Motorbooks, this exquisitely crafted volume is an engaging read and a visual treat for anyone interested in the history of the Camaro.
