| CHEVY NOTES: Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway Qualifying
10-05-2007 | TruckSeries.com Report
Team Chevy Silverado post qualifying quotes for Saturday's Mountain Dew 250 for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Talladega Superspeedway. Chad McCumbee, No. 8 TheGPSStore.com/GARMIN Silverado - Qualified 15th The manufacturer differences should shake out once we get into that race tomorrow - don't you think? "I think so. I couldn't lead yesterday, but I got up to second a few times. I think we'll get my GPSStore.com Silverado up there again tomorrow too, its just going to be interesting tomorrow. I think most everybody raced the Talladega race last year and everybody's got confidence in this race track now so its just going to be just a little wilder than it was last year, but hopefully everyone will get settled down and Wayne (Auton, series director) will yell at us a little bit, but that will be okay. But like I said it's just an awesome deal for these MRD/Haas guys and they gave me an awesome Silverado today." Kyle Busch, No. 51 Flanders Beef Patties Silverado - Qualified 29th Will you be catching your breath at the beginning of the race tomorrow and how wild do you think this race is going to be? "I'm not sure, but I'm hoping not too wild. It really doesn't need to be wild til the end, you know, not until the last ten or twenty laps. But until that point you just have to be calm because it doesn't matter where you are at or where you are running whatsoever. You just try to ride and get through some pit stops and get to the end of the race. No one is going to win the race at the middle of the event and you are not going to win the race at the middle of the end, it's going to be at the end. So hopefully everyone will keep it screwed down on their shoulders and we can go out there and run a good race." Willie Allen, No. 13 ThorSport Silverado - Qualified 16th Was sixteenth about as good as you were hoping for? "I thought we could be top-fifteen and actually was thinking twelfth or thirteenth, but it's better than Daytona where we were twenty-fourth. So we stepped it up and the guys are building a new truck for next year." Ron Hornaday, No. 33 Camping World Silverado - Qualified 13th
