Vegas for Villenueve: Former F1 champion and Indianapolis 500 winner Jacques Villenueve, will make his first career NASCAR start behind the wheel of the No. 27 Bill Davis Racing Tundra at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Villenueve tested a Tundra at Chicagoland Speedway and has tested the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup 'Car of Tomorrow' Camry at Kentucky Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway.
Lady Luck Riding Along: Toyota Tundra drivers have achieved great success at the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mike Skinner won last year's race and has earned the past three poles at the speedway, and Todd Bodine took his Tundra to victory lane in 2005. Fellow Tundra driver Jack Sprague earned two wins (1996 and 1998) and three poles (1997, 1998 and 2001) before moving behind the wheel of a Tundra. Ted Musgrave has also earned a win at the track back in 2001.
Bet on Bodine: Bodine has made a total of 11 starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway between all three major NASCAR series. In those starts Bodine has earned six top-five finishes and made his way to victory lane in both NCTS (2005) and NBS (2001) events.
Poker Face: "I've always loved it (Las Vegas Motor Speedway) -- the old track and the new configuration of the track," says Bodine, about racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. "It's just the type of track I enjoy racing. We were really close with the set-up in our Tundra there last year. The truck was very fast, we just had a miscue in the pits that made the truck too loose. We've always run well at Vegas, and I'm looking forward to getting back there."
Tundra Talk: After 18 of 25 races, five Tundra drivers sit among the top-10 in the NCTS championship point standings. Skinner is second in standings, just 29 points behind leader Ron Hornaday. He is being chased by fellow Tundra drivers Bodine (fourth), Benson (fifth), Ted Musgrave (seventh) and Jack Sprague (10th).
