Richmond International Raceway President Doug Fritz has announced two Richmond International Raceway staff promotions and the hiring of one new employee, all taking effect immediately.

Aimee Turner, who has served as Manager of Public Relations at Richmond International Raceway since 2004, has been promoted to Director of Public Relations, and will oversee all facets of the public relations department for the track. A native of Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of Radford University, Turner has over eight years of motorsports public relations experience, thus making her a natural fit for the position. She currently resides in Chesterfield with her husband Matthew and is expecting her first child in October.

"Aimee has done a tremendous job for us since 2004 and has earned this promotion," Fritz said. "She truly knows how to integrate public relations into what we're trying to accomplish here and will do a great job carrying the department forward."

Richie Denzler, who has been with Richmond International Raceway since 2005, has been named the Community and Public Relations Coordinator. Denzler started at Richmond International Raceway as an intern in 2004 before being hired on full-time in 2005. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Denzler is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned his Master of Science degree in Sport Leadership with a focus in business and administration in 2004. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from VCU in 2002.

"Richie has really grown professionally since joining us in 2004," Fritz said. "He has continued to show success here and I'm pleased to see the tremendous contributions that he has made to our public relations department."

Whitney Martin joins the Richmond International Raceway marketing and sales department as a Corporate Sales Executive. Martin comes to Richmond International Raceway after completing her degree in finance at Virginia Tech. Her prior work experience includes Northwestern Mutual Financial Network where she sold life and health insurance and annuities. She was raised in the Richmond area and attended James River High School in Midlothian, Va. In her role, Martin will assist in managing the TORQUE Club and the Cintas Pit Stop Club corporate hospitality area. Martin currently resides in Midlothian.

"Whitney is a great addition to our corporate sales department," Fritz said. "Even though she is new to the position, she has already shown wonderful enthusiasm and hard work that is necessary to running many of our hospitality clubs."
