TEAM NEWS: Westerman Companies Extends Sponsorship to Gateway on the No. 40 Truck

The Westerman Companies, the manufacturer of containers for storage and transit in the oil, gas and nuclear energy industries, has added the September 1, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Gateway International Raceway to its list of primary sponsorship of the No. 40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado. Making the announcement was Westerman Companies President/CEO Terry McGhee.

"Last season, we spent a lot of money with a race team and never turned a lap. This year, we're running virtually every lap in every race, getting exposure and Key Motorsports is doing everything to accommodate us and our customers. We're very happy with this new partnership," McGhee stated.

The No. 40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado carried the colors and logos of the Westerman Companies for previous races at the Kentucky Speedway, O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis and the Nashville Superspeedway. The October 20th event at the Martinsville Speedway is also on the 2007 schedule making the Gateway addition the fifth race in which the Westerman Companies will have partnered with Key Motorsports this season.

Competing in only its second full season of NCTS competition, Key Motorsports has made tremendous strides forward with the help of three different crew chiefs, the hard work of two dozen former and current shop employees and crew members and nine different drivers. Sponsorship has been a challenge, but the Westerman Companies have stepped forward to provide welcomed support that has enabled the race team to run with a purpose.

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our relationship with Terry, Melissa (Executive VP and CFO Melissa Eaton), their families and other company officials and guests," said Key Motorsports founder and owner Curtis W. Key, Sr.

"Our goal is to continue to provide the Westerman Companies with the benefits of the sponsorship that aids the company in terms of added awareness and exposure and in helping the company grow its business. We'll also continue to strive to give them the most competitive race truck and team that will display their name and logo all across the country and help the company achieve all of its goals," Key added.

In the three previous races under the Westerman Companies banner, the No. 40 has finished 19th at Kentucky, 23rd in Indianapolis and 25th in Nashville with rookie driver Brandon Miller behind the wheel. Miller will again pilot the Westerman Companies Chevrolet at Gateway International Raceway where he does have a top five qualifying effort and sixth place finish in NASCAR Busch Series competition while driving for Richard Childress Racing in 2005.
