MATHEWS: Brings ARCA and Late Model Experience at Nashville
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Ryan Mathews has run at the Nashville Superspeedway before, just not in a Craftsman Truck. Mathews ran in the ARCA RE/MAX Series last year and was running solidly in the fifth position until he had a tire blow out. He also ran Late Models for three years in a row at the Music City Motorpark at the Nashville Fairgrounds, and was leading the race in 2005 but ended up finishing fifth. Mathews has a lot of success in Nashville, so watch out for him to be contender this weekend.

This week's race truck for Nashville Superspeedway is Chassis No. 22-42. This is the same truck Mathews captured his first Bud Pole with in Kentucky earlier this year en route to his highest finish ever (fourth).

Triad Racing Development will adorn the hood and the sides of Mathews' No. 22 Toyota Tundra this weekend in Nashville. Triad is the primary supplier of the engines, chassis and bodies for every full-time Toyota Tundra team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Mathews along with BDR teammate Mike Skinner tested this past week at Richmond International Raceway. The No. 22 truck ran well and the team is ready to get things going this weekend in Nashville.

Ryan Mathews on racing at Nashville Superspeedway: "I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend in Nashville. Doug (Wolcott, crew chief) and the team are ready to roll and we're going to do everything possible to make another top-five finish. I had a great run in Nashville last year in the ARCA car. I ran in the fifth position for the majority of the race until we fell back due to a sudden tire blow out, so I know the track pretty well."

"Our team has had much success so far this year and I'm so proud of how well we've worked together and the effort we've put forth in the last few months. We're looking forward to turning things around from our run at ORP and putting on a great show this weekend for Triad Racing Development and Toyota."

Mark Chambers, BDR's truck team manager and his wife, Kim gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Lydia Rae on Friday, August 3rd. She weighed in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces.
