No. 21 Ford F-150 driver John Wood (VPS Motorimages Photo) According to a team statement, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Jon Wood was treated and released from a local hospital this morning following a single vehicle accident on his way to work. Wood's pickup truck has a modified suspension system with pneumatic air bags on the chassis. Eyewitnesses reported that shortly after 8:00 a.m. this morning they witnessed a failure of his right front air bag, causing the truck to veer off the roadway into the woods. He was treated for a cut on his head and a bruising on his arm, but was released shortly thereafter. Wood is the grandson of Glen Wood, who helped to form Wood Brothers Racing, one of the longest running teams in NASCAR today. Wood finished 28th last Friday evening at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis and is expected to compete at Nashville Superspeedway on August 11, 2007.
