McCUMBEE: Great Qualifying Effort Delivers Top-20 Finish

Chad McCumbee is solid no matter where he goes. And he was able to continue his string of top-20 finishes at Kentucky Speedway in the latest NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at the track with a 20th place finish on Friday night.

"I was really happy with our qualifying effort," said McCumbee. "We just missed it a little bit during the race. We just decided on some stuff that didn't really work with the track and when we got into traffic, but we did have a fast truck this weekend that was able to keep us up front in the top-20."

McCumbee was able to put the No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevy up in the front for the start of the race with a 10th place starting position. From there he was able to stay close to the front of the pack throughout the race on his way home to a 20th place finish.

"Our truck just wasn't quite what we were looking for in traffic, and when we were racing side by side," added McCumbee. "But we were still able to learn a lot. So we will just take what we learned to the next mile and a half track at Nashville and just take it from there."

Chad McCumbee and the No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet will be back in action on Friday July 27th at O'Reilly Raceway Park.
