Mike Skinner ran away with the Built Ford Tough 225 to win his fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race of the season Saturday at Kentucky Speedway.
Skinner's Bill Davis Racing Toyota led 135 of 150 laps on the 1.5-mile track and was in front of runner-up Travis Kvapil by 5.57 seconds at the checkered flag.
Skinner had led 87 of the opening 95 laps when he guided the lead lap cars down pit lane for their final scheduled pit stops. He came out in fourth behind Todd Bodine, rookie Ryan Mathews and Brendan Gaughan.
Bodine, in the Germain Racing Toyota, didn't take any tires and Gaughan, in the South Point Racing Chevrolet, had taken rubber only on the right side. Mathews, also driving for Davis, took four tires.
Following the restart on Lap 101, Skinner moved into second one lap later and blasted past Bodine on the inside entering Turn 3 to take the lead for good on Lap 105. He had a 3.5-second advantage with 20 to go and was ahead by 5.5 with 10 remaining.
"I was waiting for a tire to blow or something, and it didn't," Skinner said. "It just worked out perfect for us tonight."
Skinner compared the performance to his win at Martinsville on March 31, when he led 246 of 253 laps.
"We were that good in Martinsville," Skinner said. "We were that dominant. We could win the drag race and we could out handle them in the corners."
The No. 5 team never touched the truck on its pits stops except to add fuel and change tires.
"We never turned a bolt, never changed the air pressure (in the tires)," Skinner said.
Skinner leads the championship by 164 points over Ron Hornaday Jr. with 13 of 25 races completed. Both Bodine and Kvapil are 288 back.
Kvapil, in Roush Fenway Racing's Ford, ran in second for the final 45 laps. He had to hold off Ted Musgrave's Germain Racing Toyota, which finished third a few truck lengths behind.
"I'm happy to finish second because I didn't feel our truck was that good," Kvapil said. "It's disappointing in the overall points because the guy we're chasing led the most laps and kicked our tails."

Mathews finished fourth in his seventh start in the series. He was sixth in the previous race at Memphis. The 27-year-old from Lake Geneva, Wis., started from the pole.
"We finished sixth in Memphis for our first top-10 and now we came here and got a pole and a pole and a top-five, so it's big for me," Mathews said.
David Green, replacing the suspended Aaron Fike in Red Horse Racing's Toyota, was fifth, followed by Jon Wood, Joey Clanton, Bill Lester, Mike Bliss and Hornaday.
