KINSER: Finished 14th in Memphis

Following a string of top-20 finishes at Texas, Michigan and Milwaukee, Morgan-Dollar Motorsports and driver Kraig Kinser were confident another great finish could be achieved at the Memphis Motorsports Park.

After qualifying for the O'Reilly 200 in the 23rd starting position, Kinser and the No. 47 Ginn Resorts Silverado crew were ready to work their way to the front.

When the caution flag flew on lap 70. Kinser reported to Crew Chief Eric Phillips that his truck was "tight in the center". Phillips decided to make an adjustment with air pressure, change four tires and fuel. The pit crew had a lightning fast stop, gaining Kinser seven positions on pit road, and when the green flag flew on lap 77, Kinser restarted the race in the 13th position.

By lap 114, Kinser had worked his way up to the 12th position, and radioed to the crew that the truck was really good for the first 20 laps of the run and was a "tad tight in turns three and four". Caution flew over the .75-mile tri-oval and Kinser headed toward pit road for more adjustments. The crew serviced Kinser's Silverado with four tires, fuel, a slight air pressure adjustment, as well as pulling the right front fender out, to prevent any possible further damage to the tire from slight contact with another truck during the race.

The green flag flew again on lap120, and Kinser was shuffled around during the restart, and settled in 15th place. Caution came out once again on lap 191 following a spin on the track and Phillips called Kinser down pit road for a final time to take on two right side tires. Following a great restart, Kinser was able to race his way to another top-15 finish, with his Silverado scored in the 14th position.

"I am happy with the finish we got," Kinser said. "Memphis is such a hard place to pass, and the guys had awesome pit stops that gained us quite a few spots, which saved me some work out on the track. Eric made some good calls in the pits, and it just seemed like the truck would be good for the first 20 laps or so of a run and then tighten up, so we fought that all night. I know the guys are looking forward to a little break, and we will be ready to get to Kentucky and continue the momentum there."

Kinser and the Morgan-Dollar Motorsports team will take a well-deserved weekend off, and will return to racing at the Kentucky Speedway in the Built Ford Tough 225 on Saturday, July 14, 2007. The race will be broadcast live under the lights on SPEED at 7:30 p.m. ET with radio coverage provided live on MRN radio.
