Showalter Reaches Personal Milestone at Dover

When Chris Showalter first entered the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCTS) in 1995, he never would have guessed that by 2007, he would be the only individual to have attended all 300 events in one of NASCAR's toughest divisions.

Showalter, or "Showie" as he is fondly referred to by friends and comrades in the garage area, has pretty much seen and heard it all during his 12-year tenure in the NCTS. Showalter has worked with six teams, nine drivers, and has amassed an impressive 13 victories and two NCTS Championships with drivers Mike Bliss in 2002 and Travis Kvapil in 2003.

"Well, I have never really had the desire to go Cup racing, and the Trucks have the best racing in my opinion," Showalter stated. "The Truck Series is more grass-roots, Saturday night racing compared to Busch and Cup, and it is just so much more down to earth. Fans have access to the drivers, and everything is more relaxed. I have met some really good friends in the Truck Series, and have sure seen a lot over the years. I want to thank the teams along the way that I have been a part of, and I hope to have continued success in the Truck Series in the future."

Showalter has been with his current team, Morgan-Dollar Motorsports, since the beginning of the 2006 season, and team owner David Dollar has been nothing but impressed with Showalter and his unwavering work ethic.

"It has been a pleasure to have Chris on our team and to know him even before he worked for us has been really great," Dollar said. "He has definitely seen and been a part of some special moments in the Truck Series and having his experience and knowledge at Morgan-Dollar has made us a stronger team. He has a great work ethic and is always one of the first guys at the shop in the morning, and is one of the last to leave at night. His strong character and teamwork has made him one of the leaders at our team and we are glad that he is part of our organization."

SPEED TV will be airing an interview with the NCTS' new "Ironman" in their pre-race show on Friday, June 1st at 8 p.m. when the trucks take to the track at the Dover International Speedway.
