On a day that was punctuated by rain, Dennis Setzer pulled off a rare feat by running an entire NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race without visiting pit road to win the Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Park. The Newton, N.C. veteran outlasted the competition and picked up his 17th career series victory and his ninth on tracks under a mile in length.

Setzer feather-footed his way to the win in Wayne and Connie Spears' No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet, pacing himself and conserving fuel while others raced hard all day long. Setzer was running second on lap 239 when leader Rick Crawford had a right front tire go down coming out of turn four, which sent the pack scrambling to find an escape route. Setzer went high, narrowly avoiding a collision and just barely holding back a hard charging Aaron Fike in the process.

Fike's day went awry on the restart when his truck ran shy of fuel, elevating Jack Sprague to the second spot. Sprague tried to run down the leader, but Setzer had enough to hold back the charge to take home an impressive winner's trophy.

"Tom (Ackerman) knew from last year here with the 9 truck that we could go all the way," Setzer said. "We were careful to conserve fuel from the start. I didn't crank the engine until they rolled off the grid. Every time we went back from the red flag after the rain, I wouldn't crank it until the guy in front of me was halfway down pit road. We knew we had that option and when we started getting the rain and all the cautions that's what made that decision for us."

Setzer was happy to score his first win in 22 months, but he called the fans that stayed through 5 hours and 33 seconds of rain delays the true heroes of the day.

"Those fans sat through thick and thin today," Setzer said. "These fans up here in Ohio just love this. They eat it up. All they wanted from today was to see a good show, and I think we gave them one."

Runner-up finisher Jack Sprague was in disbelief that anyone could run the entire distance without stopping for fuel. Sprague brought his No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota to pit road early on lap 34 for fuel only and ran the rest of the way without a stop.

"Congratulations to those guys - if they are legal," he said with a smile. "I know our Toyotas have the best mileage and there's no way I could go all the way. The 1 (Fike) pitted on lap 35 and he ran out a few laps to the end. I just don't see how anyone could do that here. I am amazed. If they did it and they are legal that is impressive."

Sprague was happy to rebound with a top five run after a hard crash at Charlotte last week.

"I saw those guys have troubles with the right front and I figured there's no way that would happen to us two weeks in a row," he said. "It was a good points day for us. It's awesome to come out of here second. That ties our worst finish here, but we'll take it. We wanted that win though."

Ken Schrader finished third in the Bobby Hamilton Racing No. 18 Fastenal Dodge. It was Schrader's first top ten finish of the season, and Dodge's first top five and top finish respectively.

"It's tough to go to war when you only have two soldiers," Schrader said. "Kevin Hamlin went and tested these trucks last week and he told me they were good. We just stayed out of trouble. It's good for the team. This is the last place that Bobby won, and it's big for us to come out of here with a top five. We gave one away last week, so it's nice to close the deal."

Mike Skinner started from the pole for the fifth consecutive race and finished fourth, with his Bill Davis Racing teammate Johnny Benson in fifth.

Ron Hornaday had an eventful afternoon, involved in two incidents that forced him to the back of the field. Hornaday was able to race his way back through the field to finish sixth ahead of Travis Kvapil in seventh, Ted Musgrave in eighth, Brendan Gaughan in ninth, and rookie Kevin Hamlin rounded out the top ten.

Matt Crafton led 68 laps on the afternoon, but was relegated to 35th at the finish after a right front tire went down and he banged the turn three wall.

The race was slowed 13 times by caution, with three separate red flags for rain. Four drivers swapped the lead three times, and Setzer's official margin of victory was 0.522 seconds.

Next up for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is the AAA Insurance 200 at Dover International Speedway, the 300th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event since its inception in 1995. TruckSeries.com will have complete event coverage starting with TrackSideLive! coverage of practice on Thursday May 26. Live! Bud Pole Qualifying is slated for 10:30 A.M. Eastern, with the green flag scheduled for 4 P.M. Eastern on Friday June 1.
