Michigan International Speedway has teamed up with its official beer sponsor, Miller Lite, to host a Miller Rock N' Racing concert, which will feature a post-race performance by country music sensation Montgomery Gentry on Saturday, June 16. The concert will take place after the conclusion of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Michigan 200, which is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
Fans who have purchased tickets to the NCTS Michigan 200, which will feature many of today's hottest drivers such as Mark Martin, Johnny Benson and Todd Bodine, can use their ticket stub for gate admission to the post-race concert and witness one of country music's hottest bands perform outside of Turns 1 and 2.
Tickets for the Michigan 200 are available for $40 each with children 12 and under admitted free. Tickets can be purchased by visiting MISpeedway.com or calling 800-354-1010. MIS and Miller Brewing Company are partnering for the third straight year to make Miller Lite "The Official Beer of MIS" in 2007.
"Michigan International Speedway and Miller Lite believe in delivering fun to all of our fans and that means more than just great racing," track president Roger Curtis said. "Adding a Montgomery Gentry concert following our June NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event will be all about fun for our fans. This concert will give fans a great opportunity to witness one of country music's hottest bands."
"What better way to top off an exciting day of racing at MIS than with a high-energy show by an award-winning band, presented by the award-winning light beer," Dockery Clark, Miller's director of sports and alliance marketing said. "The Miller Lite Rock 'n Racing series takes an already great day for legal-drinking-age fans and makes it even better."
Since their debut in 1999, the duo of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry has been a cornerstone of the most important movement in country music since the Outlaws. Their elements consist of straightforward lyrics reflecting the realities of modern life, a show that is completely inclusive of their audience, and a gritty rock edge that has captured the imaginations of their fans. They have joined forces with rockers like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kid Rock to help rewrite the modern musical landscape.
Country Music Association's 2000 "Duo of the Year," Montgomery Gentry added to their list of stellar accomplishments by becoming Country Music Television's Most Played Duo in 2005. Taking yet another step forward in their music maturation, the band released Some People Change on October 24, 2006.
Tickets for all MIS races, including the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Citizens Bank 400 on June 17 and the 3M Performance 400 on August 19, are on sale by calling the MIS Ticket Hotline at 1-800-354-1010 or by visiting www.MISpeedway.com.
