Darnell participated in the Kentucky ARCA test last week, where he unofficially topped the speed charts.
Darnell recorded his career best ARCA finish at Kansas, crossing the finish line in the second position. Darnell recorded his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win at Kansas on April 28. It came in his 31st start.
Erik Darnell on Kentucky Speedway:
"Last time out in the ARCA car, we nearly pulled off the win. It would be great if we could pick up our first win here at Kentucky this week. This is one of my favorite racetracks, I've raced here a bunch in the AutoZone Elite Division and made a truck start here last year. It's a unique racetrack that allows for some great racing. Hopefully our No. 99 Simply Wow Ford can be in contention at the end of the night."
Jeff Campey on Kentucky Speedway:
"Kentucky should be a good track for us. We tested here last week and ran consistently fast times. Erik really likes racing here, and we think we've got a chance to pull off the win this week. We had a little miscue with being late for the tech line and were forced to start from the rear in Kansas, so we put the driver in a hole from the start. We've got the same car this week that we had there, hopefully the result will be one position better."
