Rain cancelled the second and final scheduled NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) practice session for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway.

At the conclusion of the first practice, Ron Hornaday, Jr., No. 33 AES HR Solutions Silverado, was fourth in the order of the 36 trucks on hand for the 167-lap/250-mile race scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CDT Saturday.

"I am pretty happy with our Silverado," said Hornaday, two-time NCTS champion. "I wish we wouldn't have lost our second practice but I think Rick (Ren, crew chief) and the guys know what we are going to need for tomorrow's race.

"The great thing about this track is that there is more than one racing groove, so we will find where we need to be and should be fine for the race."

Brendan Gaughan, No. 77 South Point Hotel Silverado, stood 12th in the order when the first one-hour session concluded.

"We were in a good position on the board in practice, but with the coil bind setup that we are running this weekend, it is a bit nerve racking," Gaughan said. "It's our first time trying to run it and it's a different feel for the driver.

"I would have liked to have had another practice - and I know that my crew chief Bryan Berry and the guys were hoping for another one, too. Kansas is one of those cookie cutter tracks that this team tends to be good at and I like the big tracks.

Gaughan concluded by saying: "Our Chevrolet has been running alright, and the South Point guys are good at taking what we learn from practice and turning it into a good truck for the race. We're really close on our setup this week, and I think the guys can do what they need. Hopefully, we'll have another good finish here come tomorrow."

Kelly Sutton, No. 51 Team COPAXONE® (glatiramer acetate injection) Silverado is back on track for the first of a four-race deal with Billy Ballew Motorsports.

"I am excited to be back at the track," said Sutton. "We were a little tight in one and two, but the crew is going to make some tweaks to the truck and I think we will be ok for the race. It felt like I never left the cockpit."
