2007 Food Lion Speed Street May Lineup Packs Power Punch With Various Musical Genres
Diamond Rio, one of country music's most versatile and talented groups joins forces with rising young country music vocalist Danielle Peck and alternative rock giant Better Than Ezra to comprise a formidable lineup for the Budweiser stage for the 2007 Food Lion Speed Street festival. The world's largest race festival will be held in uptown Charlotte from Thursday, May 24th through Saturday, May 26th.
New Orleans based alternative rock trio Better Than Ezra pops the top on the Budweiser stage activity on Friday night May 25th. The New Orleans based group enjoyed their period of greatest chart success during the 1990's following their debut major-label release (Deluxe), which spawned their highest-charting hits including the single "Good" which became a major pop hit, reaching the #1 position on the Billboard chart.
Diamond Rio takes center stage on Saturday night, May 26th. This gathering of virtuoso performers has amassed six "Vocal Group of the Year" awards collectively from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, 25 Top Ten country hits, 15 top 5 singles including 9 # 1's and over 10 million in record sales. Diamond Rio has created one of the most unique sounds in country music history. They have successfully combined stunning bluegrass harmonies with a driving beat, along with some of the most outstanding solo instrumental work. Danielle Peck is a Jacksonville, NC native who has recently charged through the country charts with her hit single "Isn't That Everything." Her self-titled debut release was preceded by the chart-rocketing first single "I Don't." Peck opens up for Diamond Rio on Saturday May 26th.
Better Than Ezra, Diamond Rio and Danielle Peck help round out an extremely diverse and talented Food Lion Speed Street musical lineup.
