Virginia's Jason White has inked a deal to drive the No. 7 Hooter's Energy Drink Chevrolet Silverado under the Pennington Motorsports banner for the remainder of the '07 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season beginning with next weekend's event at Kansas Speedway.
White, a well-known competitor in the NASCAR ranks believes joining Pennington Motorsports is the best opportunity that has been presented to him in his racing career and he is looking forward to making the best of it.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to drive for Pennington Motorsports," said White. "I love competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and I feel the program that Pennington Motorsports has put together will be a package that will send us immediately into competition. Our goals are to put our No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado up front and that task is very feasible."
He continued, "I am looking forward to climbing back in the truck and getting our 2007 season rolling next weekend at Kansas Speedway. I know we're going to have a truck capable of qualifying and finishing in the top-15, we just need a little luck to go along with our plans."
White and business partner Dwayne Gaulding have been searching for a "home" in the truck series. That search has come to an end. Now, with a deal ready to go for 21 events, the duo can turn their focuses elsewhere.
"Jason has a good opportunity and all of our hard work has finally paid off," explained Gaulding, of GunBroker.com. "We've found a great bunch at Pennington Motorsports. Our trucks look awesome and I know all the key elements will work out, we're just looking forward to Kansas."
White has one start this season occurring in the 2007 NCTS season opener at Daytona International Speedway behind the wheel of the No. 63 GunBroker.com Ford F-150 for MB Motorsports. After qualifying deep in the pack, White thundered to the front and was heading towards the top-10 before being ejected from the event in a mid-race incident.
Heading into the Heart of America (Kansas), White has 12 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) starts to his resume with a career best finish of 13th at Martinsville Speedway. He holds a career best qualifying effort of 17th at Dover International Speedway.
