Kansas Speedway "Hires" Three-Time IndyCar Series Champ Sam Hornish

Kansas Speedway has "hired" three-time IndyCar Series champion and defending Kansas Lottery Indy 300 winner Sam Hornish, Jr. to work in the Kansas Speedway ticket office. Hornish replaces NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, who had to leave the position due to his racing schedule.

Hornish, who is the only driver to win the IndyCar Series championship three times and also won the 2006 Indianapolis 500, is scheduled to work in the ticket office on April 11 from 4 - 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to buy their 2007 RPM season tickets from Hornish either via phone or in person at the Kansas Speedway ticket office. Hornish, who is running a part-time NASCAR Busch Series schedule, will also be selling Sprint Fan Walk and Pit Stop Pub tickets.

"Sam will be a great addition to our staff and I'm glad we were able to hire him before any other track," said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. "Besides being the 2006 Kansas Lottery Indy 300 winner, Sam has also finished second here twice. All three times he finished in the top two, he went on to win the IndyCar Series championship.

"He may not be completely familiar with our grandstands yet, but he knows his way around the race track, which will enable him to help fans pick out their favorite spots to watch the race."

Kansas Speedway's seventh season of racing kicks off the weekend of April 27 with the IndyCar Series Kansas Lottery 300, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 and the ARCA Re/Max Series Kansas Lottery $150 Grand.

Season tickets for the 2007 season are on sale now and include five great races - the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Kansas 400 (Sept. 30), the NASCAR Busch Series Yellow Transportation 300 and USAC kansasspeedway.com 100 (Sept. 29), the IndyCar Series Kansas Lottery Indy 300 (April 29) and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 (April 28). To purchase tickets log onto www.kansasspeedway.com.

Parking is always free at Kansas Speedway and fans may bring 6x6x12-inch soft-sided coolers with their favorite food and beverage into the grandstands.
