Mike Skinner led four times for 43 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in the San Bernardino County 200. Skinner took the honor for the first time in 2007.

Skinner has led six times in two races this season for a total of 52 laps.

Skinner won tonight's race at California Speedway, crossing the finish line .554 seconds ahead of second-place Ron Hornaday Jr. The victory was the 20th of Skinner's 131-race Craftsman Truck Series career. He scored the ninth victory in the series for Bill Davis Racing.

Skinner and Jack Sprague each have 355 championship points but Sprague is listed first in the standings by virtue of his third-place finish tonight.

I wasn't sure we were going to get the WIX Filters money or not because I thought Mark might have led the most laps. That's great for us. WIX Filters has been awfully good to us and we've been able to pick up the lap leader award for the past two years. Hopefully we're off on a good start this year."

How big is this win for Mike Skinner? "It's huge. Winning is what it's about but I think representing our sponsors is even more important that winning. And I've been fortunate to build a great relationship with Toyota and Tundra, the guys at TRD and Lee White and Jim Aust and all the guys that make the decisions in the racing program. I've tried really hard to do a good job for those people. When you win races you don't have to do a very good job at PR. When you don't win races, you'd better be darn good at PR. Hopefully I can do a little of both ."
