Display of State Flags Welcomes Race Fans at Lowe's

Lowe's Motor Speedway's Avenue of Flags, the 265-foot walkway that leads to the second floor of the track's Smith Tower, is celebrating the geographic reach of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup racing through a special display of state flags.

The 14 flags represent the states from which the most fans attend the track's three major NASCAR race weekends. State flags from North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Wisconsin, Maryland and Connecticut fly alongside the 18 American flags that line the walkway.

"The display of state flags represents the geographic diversity of our fans," said Lauri Wilks, the track's senior vice president of administration. "Fifty percent of our fans come from at least 250 miles away and flying the state flags is our way of welcoming them to the speedway."

The Avenue of Flags acts as a gateway to the legendary speedway, welcoming fans and guests while directing them to the newly renovated gift shop and ticket services counter.

Tickets for all Lowe's Motor Speedway events, including the May 19 NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge and the May 27 Coca-Cola 600, are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com.
