Cale Gale and the Camping World team finished where they started, in 14th position Friday at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. Gale managed to avoid two serious wrecks and come away with a solid top-20 finish. For Gale, this marks his first time racing at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.
Kevin Harvick Behind the Wheel of KHI's No. 2:
Fontana (Calif.) marks the first of four races where team co-owner and driver, Kevin Harvick will climb behind the wheel of the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet Silverado Truck. The Bakersfield (Calif.) native will share driving duties with Cale Gale and NEXTEL Cup driver Clint Bowyer in the NASCAR Truck Series for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) in the 2007 season. The last time Harvick was behind the wheel of a truck at Fontana (Calif.) was 1999; he finished in the 15th position.
No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet Silverado:
The No. 2 Camping World team will run the brand new No. 012 chassis at the California Speedway. The only time that it has been on the track was for pre-season testing at Homestead (Fla.).The No. 2 team will run a 13 race schedule in 2007.
Kevin Harvick on the Truck Series:
"I am looking forward to this weekend, it will be the first time I have run all three races since September 2005 at Richmond."
"There is a lot less pressure to race in the Truck Series than we have on Sunday. You can just go out and race as hard as you can and go for the win. I am doing four races in a KHI truck this year. Clint (Bowyer) will drive in four truck races for me this year and Cale Gale will drive in three more."
"I like the Truck Series, I like being at the track. When I am at the track, I just like being a part of what is going on. I will continue to run truck races this year and just really enjoy what I do."
