This week's race truck for California Speedway is Chassis No. 36-102. The No. 36 team is taking a new truck to California Speedway. Tyler Walker is originally from Los Angeles, Calif.; therefore California Speedway is Walker's hometown track. He has a loyal fan base in California and can't wait to go home to race.
Walker will participate in a Toyota Motorsports autograph session Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Toyota's National Headquarters in Torrance, Calif. The event is scheduled to last from 11:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. This event gives Toyota employees a chance to get up close and personal with the Toyota Tundra family.
Walker will be available for photos and questions in the Press Conference room in the garage at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Tyler Walker on racing at California Speedway:
"I am looking forward to going back home to California this week. California Speedway is what I would call my hometown track. I was born and raised around Los Angeles and can't wait to get back and see all my family and friends."
"I have raced at the track in the Busch series back in 2005, but never in a truck. I am very excited about the opportunity to run there this year. Last weekend we had a very good truck, but I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time during the race. I really hated it for all those who were rooting us on. Hopefully this weekend we will be able to show what we are really made of and how good this No. 36 360 OTC Toyota Tundra can be."
"I am glad that Daytona is over and we can get into a regular paced race weekend. The fact that California is not a restrictor plate race really pumps me up. TRD has supplied us with a lot of power and I, along with my BDR teammates are ready to show what we can really do. I know that California Speedway is based around the draft, so there is no question that you can take advantage of the aerodynamics of the person in front of you as someone is pushing you from behind. That will be our goal this weekend, to take advantage of the draft and not get hung out to dry. We want to put on a good show and finish strong for Toyota at their home track."
