Miller Can't Wait for Truck Series Start at Daytona

Dodge Development Driver Chase Miller will be making his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start at Daytona International Speedway on Friday.

The Chevy Silverado HD 250 will mark Miller's ninth NCTS career start. In his previous eight races Miller has an average starting position of 17th and a finishing position of 26th.

Miller will pilot "Mini Me" this Friday at Daytona. This particular chassis finished eighth in last year's Chevy Silverado 250.

The No. 4 Dodge is sporting a new paint scheme and new sponsor this weekend at Daytona. Open Joist, a preferred choice for building designs that require longer joist spans or wider joist spacing and reduced framing costs, will adorn the No. 4 Dodge for the first half of the 2007 season.

Racing at Daytona: "I have dreamed about racing at Daytona all of my life. It is one of those prestigious places that everyone thinks about racing there. The only track I had to compare it to is Talladega. That place seems so smooth compared to how bumpy Daytona is. When I would drive around the track it was bouncing me around all over the place especially in the turns. Being here for the first time is exciting and fun; it's a different atmosphere than the other race tracks on the circuit."

Bet with the Boss: "Last Friday Lois came by the race shop and we were all sitting around talking about going to the track this week. I asked her if she had been to the race track before. She assured us she had and began to tell us about her first trip to the track with Bobby Hamilton Sr. several years ago to Talladega. She said Bobby Sr. forgot to tell her that you could not wear shorts in the garage area. All she could find to buy was these black and white checker flag pants which were sold at a concession stand. She told me if I won a race this season she would wear the pants at the next race and if I win Daytona she has to wear them every race this season. I still can't believe she wore those pants inside the race track. And if I have anything to do with it she will be wearing them again."

The Rookie Learning Curve: "I guess I am still considered a rookie even though I ran eight races last season. I still have a lot to learn and over half the tracks we race at this year I have never seen. The guys still call me "rookie" at the shop all the time. The end of last season was very frustrating. I was so thankful to be in the truck and wanted to make the best of every opportunity. But I also had to learn to be patient and make the right choices at the right time. It was difficult at times, but I know where my limits are now. I am excited about the 2007 season and showing everyone what this team is all about."
