SPEEDtv.com Names Jensen Senior NASCAR EditorVeteran motor sports and automotive journalist Tom Jensen was named Senior NASCAR Editor and signed to a multi-year deal with SPEED, the Charlotte-based network announced today.

"We're thrilled to have Tom signed for the next three years," said Joe Tripp, SPEEDtv.com Senior Editor. "He has been the rock from which we've built our NASCAR and automotive content in the past, and as one of the most respected journalists in the NASCAR paddock, will help lead our efforts on that front going forward. Tom's steadfast commitment to a quality product, his versatility, and his enthusiasm toward finding new ways to reach out to our fans all play a crucial role in our strategy of giving our users a unique, in-depth perspective."

Jensen, currently the vice president of the National Motorsports Press Association, the nation's premier trade organization for television, radio, print and Internet motor sports journalists, will attend the majority of NASCAR Nextel Cup Series events in 2007, providing original reports, editorial, photography and breaking news coverage for SPEEDtv.com.

"I couldn't be happier than I am right now," said Jensen, who began contributing to SPEEDtv.com in 2004. "I look forward to working with the great team at SPEED and providing our audience with the best NASCAR content possible."

Jensen also will be contributing news, commentary and in-race blogs for FOXSPORTS.com, as well as trackside reports for Fox Sports Radio.

Jensen, who has been writing about NASCAR and automotive topics for more than 15 years, is the former Managing Editor of National Speed Sport News and the 1997 Motorsports Press Association Writer of the Year. He is the author of Cheating: An Inside Look at the Bad Things Good NASCAR Nextel Cup Racers do in Pursuit of Speed.
