| Lester Buildings 2006 Building Giveaway Winner Identified
01-25-2007 | TruckSeries.com Report
Lester Building Systems has announced the winner of its 2006 NASCAR Season $30,000 Building Giveaway as Thomas DeYoung of Caledonia, MI. The sweepstakes was part of Lester Buildings' 2006 NASCAR Busch Series sponsorship with Tim Sauter and McGill Motorsports. BGNRacing.com, hosted the 2006 sweepstakes which drew over 50,000 entries. "This was quite a surprise and the timing couldn't be better," said an excited DeYoung. "We just finished building a new home and a storage/hobby building was in our plans from the beginning. But like many construction projects, the funds got a little short at the end. I really thought were going to have to wait to put up the storage building but that won't have to happen now thanks to Lester Buildings!" DeYoung operates a power equipment business in Grand Rapids and plans to use the new building to further his hobby of restoring antique boats, motor scooters and cars. "Having a workshop-type building is what I wanted and now I'm going to get it. It's really unbelievable how the timing worked out this way. My father-in-law actually entered my name in the contest as he's a huge racing fan and also knew we were looking for a building. I really don't know how to thank him!" According to Lester Buildings' Tom Borgman, the company will continue its NASCAR sponsorship in 2007 with Tim Sauter, running a full NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule with Green Light Racing and will also continue the Building Giveaway. "On a relative scale, there aren't too many other sweepstakes out there with this kind of value to the race fan. It really engages consumers and keeps our name out there," said Borgman. Lester Buildings will ship DeYoung's winning building package from the company's Charleston, IL plant, sometime in spring 2007 and it will be erected by Sikkema Equipment, Inc., the independent Lester dealer in Byron Center, MI. "It's really amazing that things turned out this way. For the winner of a national contest to be only three miles from our location and for us to actually know the winner and then get to build the prize for him is pretty special," said Paul DeBoer of Sikkema Equipment (www.sikkemaequipment.com). DeBoer continued "We've actually done business with Tom in the past as he has serviced some of our power equipment so it's great to be able to work with him on this project. And we wouldn't want to represent any other building company for Tom than Lester Buildings," DeBoer concluded. Lester Building Systems, LLC has plants in Minnesota, Illinois and Virginia, and is one of the largest pre-engineered building manufacturers in the United States, providing a broad range of building types - from simple farm buildings, equestrian and suburban buildings to many types of commercial structures. Over 140,000 Lester buildings have been erected from the Rocky Mountains to the eastern seaboard. For more information: www.lesterbuildings.com.
