MRN has Hall of Fame and Award-Winning Weekend in CharlotteMotor Racing Network (MRN) Radio garnered recognition for hard work this past weekend in Charlotte, NC during the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Convention activities.

On Saturday, MRN Lead Booth Announcer Barney Hall was inducted into the NMPA Hall of Fame. Amongst a room of "who's who" in NASCAR history, Hall was inducted for his 50 years of professionalism and talent in covering NASCAR races on MRN Radio; the Voice of NASCAR.

Junior Johnson, legendary driver, team owner and friend of Hall gave the induction speech. Up until his name was called, Hall didn't know his long-time friend was going to put him in the Hall of Fame.

The NMPA held their annual Awards Dinner on Sunday evening to recognize media professionals in the print, photography, radio and television categories. And, MRN Radio was recognized four times in the Broadcasting Category for its exceptional work.

Mike Storms, Executive Producer, won Third Place, Live Event Broadcast for the UAW Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in October. Dave Moody, MRN Radio announcer and host of "Sirius Speedway" took Third Place, Spot News for "Kevin Harvick reacts to speed," which aired on Sept. 18, 2006.

Marty Hough, Producer of Sirius Speedway, won First Place, Spot News for "Ted Musgrave Let Go," which aired on Jan. 9, 2006. Hough also won Third Place, Short Form Feature for "Manufacturer Pullout? Delorenzo talks to Sirius Speedway," which aired on April 20, 2006.

MRN Radio will continue its award-winning coverage of NASCAR this year broadcasting Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck Series events to more than 750 affiliates.
