Ambrose, No. 20 Ford Review: Phoenix
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Marcos Ambrose started seventh and finished 15th at the Casino Arizona 150 last Friday night at the Phoenix International Raceway.

Marcos Ambrose on Phoenix: "We got a pit lane penalty there (for speeding), and that was very unfortunate. That caught us with a truck that we couldn't turn on, and on the long green-flag run we lost a lap. We fought back and got a lap back. We probably gained 10 spots that we shouldn't have there to sneak into the top 15. It's not too bad. Well take that."

Marcos Ambrose on the season: "We definitely qualified better and I feel like we're starting to get a handle on these shorter tracks. I'm done with the short tracks this year, and I feel like Im getting better on them, and hopefully I have a few more in years to come."

Crew Chief Michael Cooper on Phoenix: "The speeding penalty really hurt us, but you can't blame your driver for trying to get everything he can. We still rallied back for a decent finish. That's the sign of a good race team - when you take a bad deal and make something good out of it. I though Marcos did an incredible job at the end picking off a lot of trucks to get the finish. It was fun to watch."

Marcos Ambrose's 2006 Season Highlights
