NASCAR Raceday To Offer Three-Hour Pre-Race Coverage

SPEED Adds Special Programming from NASCAR Nextel Cup FinaleSPEED will open its coverage of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series finale Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. ET with live coverage of the Chase for the Nextel Cup championship press conference from the famed Doral Golf Resort in Miami. The show will kick off nearly 30 hours of coverage from the Homestead-Miami area as titles are decided in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.

"Last year, we expanded our coverage from Homestead to give the weekend the major national championship coverage it is due," said Chris Long, SPEED VP of Production. "As we continue to push ourselves to give NASCAR fans the most comprehensive coverage anywhere, we will deliver the top talent and the most relevant stories of the race weekend."

The Chase is On, with Steve Byrnes and NASCAR driver Carl Edwards will report beachside Nov. 16 at 9 p.m. ET, to introduce the weekend's top stories.

Highlighting the four-day coverage will be live coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series finale Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Three-time NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip will join Rick Allen and former driver Phil Parsons in the booth, while Ray Dunlap, Krista Voda and NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler report from the pits.

Special editions of The SPEED Report (Nov. 17, 10:30 p.m. ET; Nov. 18, 10 p.m. ET and Nov. 19, 8 p.m. ET) will wrap up the seasons for all three major NASCAR series, with Dave Despain taking his Wind Tunnel team to Homestead to discuss the state of the sport for a Sunday morning special (10 a.m. ET).

On Nov. 19, SPEED will open the day with a special Breakfast at Homestead program at 9 a.m. ET with Byrnes, Larry McReynolds, Jeff Hammond and NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler. The NASCAR RaceDay team of John Roberts, Jimmy Spencer, Kenny Wallace, Wendy Venturini, Bob Dillner and Rutledge Wood will take over at 11 a.m. ET and deliver a three-hour pre-race show, returning after the race for NASCAR Victory Lane.
