Dover International Speedway is pleased to announce that Joe Heller has been hired as public relations coordinator. Heller will support the Speedway's public relations efforts to maximize media exposure for the annual June and September NASCAR race weekends at the one-mile track.
In this new position, Heller will cultivate additional opportunities for increased media coverage with print, radio and television outlets in major outlying markets, including Delaware, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and New York. Additional responsibilities include writing press releases and stories for various Dover International Speedway newsletters, souvenir programs, and fan guides, along with content development for the track website, www.DoverSpeedway.com.
"We are pleased to have Joe join our team," said Gary Camp, director of public relations for Dover International Speedway. "He has the right combination of educational and professional experience that make him a solid addition. As our plans for the Monster Makeover at Dover continue to unfold, Joe will play an integral role in communicating our efforts to the media and public."
Prior to joining Dover International Speedway, Heller worked full-time in the development department at United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity. In 2006, Heller worked for Dover International Speedway in the Turn One Media Center for both race weekends. He has also served as an intern at Watkins Glen International, the Philadelphia Flyers/Comcast-Spectacor, and previously worked in the media center at Nazareth Speedway.
A graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., he currently resides in Philadelphia.
