Clint Bowyer, No. 46 Jack Daniel's Silverado, was not going to be denied his career-first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) win. Starting from the pole in the Silverado 350K at Texas Motor Speedway, Bowyer took the lead at the drop of the green and held the point for the first 49 laps of the scheduled 147-lap race.

In a race where there were only three lead changes among two drivers, Bowyer regained the lead on lap 95 to claim Chevy Silverado's fifth win of the 2006 NCTS season. Three Chevy Silverado drivers claimed top-five finishing spots in the Chevrolet entitled event.

Bowyer held a comfortable lead over second place Kyle Busch, No. 15 kylebusch.com Silverado when the caution flag flew for the final time on lap 143 forcing a green-white-checkered finish. The two Silverado drivers powered away from the field on restart with Bowyer holding off Busch to take the win by 0.279 seconds.

Ron Hornaday, Jr., No. 33 RoadLoans.com/AES HR Solutions Silverado finished fifth to give Silverado three of the top-five finishing postions. Hornaday recovered to claim a top-five after going a lap down early in the race as the result of a wheel issue that forced a pit stop under green flag conditions.

Mike Skinner (Toyota) and Jack Sprague (Toyota) finished third and fourth to complete the top-five finishers. Toyota clinched their first NCTS Manufacturers' title with two more races remaining in the season. The next event will be at Phoenix International Raceway on November 10, 2006.

Manufacturers' points following tonights race are: Toyota 160 points (11 wins); Ford 145 points (7 wins); Chevrolet 120 points (5 wins) and Dodge 79 points (0) wins.

Clint Bowyer, No. 46 Jack Daniels Silverado, Qualified 1st, Finished 1st:
"It was fun out there tonight. The Jack Daniels Chevy Silverado was really good. I just had a lot of fun. Our strong all weekend in the corners. We were really strong in the corners. Those Toyotas have a lot of horsepower but our Richard Childress Racing (RCR) in our Silverado was really strong. On a long run, I could hold it open all the way around. Clean air was very important. On that one restart, he kind of snookered me on the start, I was really expecting it. You just have to block those things for a couple of laps. Once the handling would come in, we were able to drive away from all them it.

"He (Mike Skinner) was pushing me pretty hard there. I wasn't going to give him the bottom but I gave him plenty of real estate up top. I guess he didn't want to go to the outside, I guess the grass was a better option."

On Toyota in the Truck Series and Motorsports: "I don't think they will be successful right off the bat, but this business is all about people, and it is going to take them a while to get the right people put in place to get the job done. That is their strong point right now; they obviously have their engineering, drivers, and good crew chiefs and crews in the pits. That is what it takes; it is a total team effort once you get into this caliber of racing. I think there will be some growing pains, but I think definitely think that in two or three years, just like they are here, they will be a force to be reckoned with. I think it is good for our sport to let them in."

On how much win will carry over to the remainder of the weekend: "I think a lot. I was a little bit worried as to what to expect when I got here, but the Morgan-Dollar Motorsports truck was really strong right off the bat and I couldn't have been happier with the way they conducted themselves and the way that the truck was prepared to go to battle. Going into tomorrow's race and Sunday, it is just momentum, and a confidence booster for the rest of the weekend. Make them boys in that Busch and Cup program step it up."

On blocking during race: "Just the way these trucks draft was fun to race. They are a lot of fun when they are out front, obviously. They were just able to get some help, but he would suck up on me, and there wasn't much I could do about it but block. The bottom was definitely the fastest way around, and once you got up high, you just lost grip. There just wasn't much grip out there, but I think we will see that open up for Sunday's race. For the truck race tonight, the bottom was where it was at and I wasn't about to give up the bottom. I thought I left plenty of real estate at the top, but he just didn't elect to try it."

On why Skinner was upset about blocking: "I am sure he was frustrated, but like I said, there was six inches on the bottom, and sixty feet on the top."

Kyle Busch, No. 15 kylebusch.com Silverado, Qualified 8th, Finished 2nd:
"It was a lot of fun and a good run for us. First of all, congratulations to Clint, he had an awfully good truck. I would rather be beat by another Chevrolet than anything else. That was good for Chevy, a one-two finish tonight in the Silverado 350. I really want to thank the people at Freedom Grill that made this happen for us tonight and all the people at kylebusch.com and Kyle Busch Motorsports, as well as everybody at Billy Ballew Motorsports. Richie Wauters (crew chief) and all his guys, they did it again.

"We were just really really tight there in the beginning of the race, just couldn't turn through the corners the way I wanted it to. We kept freeing up the back and letting the back do all the work, most guys don't like that, but we had to do it tonight in order to finish up front."

"It was a good night for us. The Billy Ballew Silverado was pretty strong. It didn't start off that well, but we just kept working on it more and more throughout the pit stops. We were really tight through the beginning and middle part of the race. After that last pit stop, we just made massive changes to try and turn it around a little bit. We got it going a little bit better after that. All in all it was a good night for us and for Billy, Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and the whole team. They have been struggling for a couple of weeks so it was a decent finish."

Ron Hornaday, No. 33 Roadloans.com Silverado, Qualified 9th, Finished 5th: "Our guys worked so hard this whole weekend, and I just cannot say how proud I am of our team. They gave me a great truck to run in this weekend, we just were a little tight, and I think that others were fighting the same problem. I am so happy that a Chevy Silverado won this race and we had an awesome run in our Roadloans.com Silverado. Congrats to Clint and his team, and we will go to Phoenix and fight for the win there."

Chad McCumbee, No. 08 The GPS Store/Garmin Silverado, Qualified 17th, Finished 13th:
"Man, I just cannot say enough about this team, and we had a great run in our Silverado tonight. I was optimistic coming here, because the past couple of weeks have been tough for us, but we fought back and came off the truck pretty decent. I am looking forward to heading to Phoenix next week and getting another good run for The GPS Store and Garmin in our Silverado."
