Terry Cook No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l F-150 (Qualified 3rd)
"For our program now, obviously, I was tickled to death to run that fast of a lap.  We didn't do a simulated qualifying run in practice, so we really didn't know what it would run.  To run that fast was definitely a good pick up for us.  We're very pleased with that.  We brought a race truck here, not a qualifier, so I really, truly don't expect that to be the pole.  I definitely think there's a lot faster trucks than that, but if we can land anywhere in the top 10, we'll be tickled to death with that lap.  The way I look at it, the way my hands are still shaking, if they can go faster than that they can have it."

Is the cooler weather contributing to the faster speeds?  "It definitely did.  At this point we're under the track record and I really don't know when the track record was broken, and if it was on the big carburetor or not, but that was two laps wide open not even thinking about lifting.  The track has got a tremendous amount of grip right now and with the cool temperatures the motors are making a lot of horsepower.  Our Ford Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l truck was good all day long in practice, and we felt like right at the end of practice we got it really, really good and we turned a good lap in qualifying, so we're happy with where we're at."

Bobby East No. 21 State Fair Corn Dogs/Edy's Dibs Ford F-150 (Qualified 4th)
"We lost a tenth, but that's OK.  We're real good in race trim and that's what we're here for.  I just want to thank everybody on this Wood Brothers team, and John Monsam (crew chief) and everybody has done a great job and hopefully we'll have a good run.  It's good to qualify good, but we're here for tomorrow night.  We had a 15th-place finish last week, which is good for me on a mile-and-a-half and we want to build on that.  We want to make sure that we finish better than 15th this weekend."

Marcos Ambrose No. 20 Team Australia/Aussie Vineyards Ford F-150 (Qualified 18th)
Do you feel the truck is where you need it to be?
"Not really.  We're running wide open there, so we're giving up drag or something to run fast lap.  We're hoping tomorrow that we'll be all right for the race.  It's what we could have hoped for because you can't do much more than run flat out."

Was there a lot of grip on the track tonight?  "It's got a lot of grip and there's no doubt it's pretty fast.  If you're doing 29s on a one-and-a-half-mile race track you know you're getting something done. Every track is different and we're going through, not a slump, but we're going through a transition change at then moment and we're working on stuff for next year and we're kinda looking towards the future rather than right now or yesterday.  We know we've run good on ovals like this on the past, so we're going to try to have a good race."

Rick Crawford No. 14 Circle Bar Truck Corral Ford F-150 (Qualified 7th)
"It was pretty good.  The guys on the Circle Bar Truck Corral crew outer of Ozona, Texas, did a good job.  It's been good since it unloaded and I'm looking forward to tomorrow night's racing.  We knew that we had a good race truck and I thought we had a little bit better qualifying trim than we did, but it backed up what it did in our qualifying mock run today.  I'm looking forward to the race now."

The speeds are up this year.  "You've got the right tire at the right track on a cool night and these motors with this Sunoco unleaded, I think it's loving the cool weather.  It's got good air and the Roush-Yates engine under the hood is tuned for the job, and anytime you get cooler weather at a race track, the tires get a little more speed and I think that's what's calling for the faster speeds."

With the higher speeds, was it still comfortable for two laps?  "You know, a Ford F-150 always has a comfortable ride.  On the first lap, I lifted a little bit in one and two over there because I got out of the groove because I don't guess the tires were at optimal temperature, but on the second lap, we were on the boards the whole lap.  It was a perfect lap on the second lap, but I just wish it would have been faster."

Terry Cook Press Conference
"The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l truck was good, kinda a little bit like Mike (Skinner) said there.  We were bottoming out just a little bit.  You work so hard to get this things to travel with the valences sealed right off on the race track and then when you qualify at night the track has a tremendous amount of grip, and you tape up the front very solid and you travel maybe just a little bit more than you did earlier today, so we're dragging the track and throwing sparks.  Kinda like Mike, we thought we could have gone a little bit faster if we didn't drag so hard, but we're still very pleased with our effort.  We didn't even do a simulated qualifying run practice, so we really didn't know what we had.  We were more concentrating on race trim, so I felt like we had a really, really good race truck that surprisingly qualified really, really well, so we're pleased with our effort so far this weekend."

Bobby East Press Conference
"It was obviously pretty good, but it's all my team.  It's John Monsam and all of the guys; they just do a great job.  Here the past couple of months, they've just been giving me really, really good trucks and they've qualified real good and John Monsam always makes them better as the race goes on.  We had a decent finish for a rookie on a mile-and-a-half last week, so we're hoping to gain on that this week."
