Marcos Ambrose started 12th and finished 16th at the EasyCare Vehicle Services Contracts 200 last Saturday at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Marcos Ambrose on Atlanta: "I'm frustrated because I thought we had a better finish than that, but we didn't maximize our chances there at the end. It was a strong day. We finished 16th and we ran competitive all day, so that's all you can ask for. It's a really different track compared to other tracks I've run on just because you do slip and slide much more. I learned a lot from the practice to the race as well. If I came back for the race tomorrow, I'd have a different setup on the truck, but I think experience is going to pay a lot here and we had a decent day."
Marcos Ambrose on the season: "I'm really glad we're going to Texas next week because we learned so much at Atlanta. When we went to these mile-and-a-half tracks earlier this year, we went with a strategy to stay out of the way and learn. Now we're in position to compete. It's a completely different mindset."
Crew Chief Gary Gogswell on Atlanta: "We tried to use some of the things we learned at Texas and Charlotte, but Atlanta was different. Although they look alike, they all have different characteristics. Add that to the rain on Friday that washed away all the rubber, and it really changed everything. We still had a solid finish on the lead lap, so it was another step in the right direction."
