10-28-2006 | TruckSeries.com Report
Todd Bodine leads Johnny Benson by 86 points in the Craftsman Truck Series championship with three races remaining on the 2006 schedule. Todd Bodine, No. 30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra, Germain Racing: Did you know something happened to Johnny Benson? "I saw him back there at the bottom. I hate it for them. At least we both had problems the same day, so it was a wash. David (Reutimann) had a great day, he's probably not that far behind us now. Teddy (Musgrave) was going to have a good day and he got a flat at the end." How was your truck? "We were OK. We weren't very good. It probably would have been a top-10 truck. At the end, I was running with those guys, just trying to stay out of the way. We got some work to do on figuring out this tire because we have to go to Texas with the same stuff next week." How do you feel about the next three races? "I'm concerned. We have to get our truck handling better to figure out what's wrong. We'll go there (Texas) and do the best we can." How do you feel about the points race? "It's not good at all. Fortunately, they had problems when we had problems. It comes down to who has the worst luck." Johnny Benson, No. 23 NAPA Tundra, Bill Davis Racing: Did you think about the points during the race? "You think about it. Twice this year we could have gained some when Todd (Bodine) had problems, and we had problems in the same race. He always seems to benefit from it. It seems like it's going to be his championship. We're still going to do everything we can, but you can't use very many 'mulligans.' He's used a couple, and we've used some. Both teams are very even." Do you still have a shot at the points title? "It is mathematically possible. Realistically, I don't think so. It's going to take problems. I thought we were going to gain some today and we had problems. That's what it's going to take. We have to gain 22 points a race. You just don't gain those. That's hard to do." Toyota Season Notes:
