Bobby East started 34th last Saturday at the Kroger 200 in his State Fair Corn Dogs/Edy's Dibs Ford F-150 at the Martinsville Speedway. He finished 21st.
East's next race will be the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday.
Bobby East on Martinsville: "It was a tough day; it was a typical day at Martinsville. We shot ourselves in the foot by qualifying so bad. We tried pulling some strategy and to get some track position. I got hit once a lap for about the last 50 laps. It's kind of ridiculous, really, but it's Martinsville and I'll remember that next week. The good thing is, we were able to get some good exposure for the Greg Biffle Foundation's variety of pet-related causes."
Bobby East on the season: "Anytime you improve by 13 positions from where you started at a racetrack like Martinsville, that's a testament for the entire race team. This is a team than can contend for a win at any given racetrack, on any given weekend. No matter how good you are, you still need everything to fall into place. We made one little slip, just a fraction of a second, during qualifying and that forced us to play catch-up all day at Martinsville. As we continue to grow as a race team, it will be easier for everything to fall into place."
Crew Chief John Monsam on Martinsville: "When you come to Martinsville, you expect a certain level of bumping and grinding. You certainly saw a lot of that this time, especially coming from the back to the front. This was a good learning experience for everyone. The big lesson continues to be track position, and the best way to get it is in qualifying. We'll take this, learn from it, and get ready for Atlanta".
