Long-time Motor Racing Network broadcaster Adam Alexander will join the SPEED NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series broadcast team as a pit reporter during LIVE coverage for the 2007 season.

Alexander, of Evansville, Ind., has spent the last six years as a booth anchor, pit reporter and turn announcer for MRN's NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, Busch Series and Truck Series race broadcasts. During that same time period, Alexander also handled pit road and turn announcer duties for IMS Radio Network's yearly nationwide broadcast of the Indianapolis 500.

"Adam stood out in our interviews and during his audition," said Chris Long, VP of Studio Production. "He will bring a lot of energy, as well as a great deal of experience. I listen to a lot of race coverage on the radio, and he's always stood out to me as one of the best. I always like to bring great radio personalities to the television side because their descriptive talents and attention to detail really adds something to our coverage."

Alexander is no stranger to television though, as he was the sports director for Evansville, Ind., station WEVV-TV, where hosted the University of Evansville's basketball coaches' television show.

"This is a great opportunity," Alexander said. "But I'm particularly excited about working with the SPEED broadcast team because of the people. Their quality and experience make this a good fit for me. I'm really looking forward to facing this new challenge."

Alexander's addition to the SPEED broadcast team continues the network's growth trend within the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Since 2004, when LIVE broadcasts of the Truck Series started on the network, SPEED has enjoyed a nearly 15-percent increase in overall audience year over year, as ratings are up again in 2006.
