Fourth-Annual Ohio 250 Returns to Mansfield for 2007

Fourth-Annual Ohio 250 Returns to Mansfield for 2007Mansfield Motorsports Speedway will again host the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the fourth consecutive year in 2007 as the Ohio 250 is slated for Saturday May 26, 2007.  The 250-lap race will be run on Memorial Day weekend for the second consecutive year, with practice sessions and qualifying runs preceding the race on Friday May 25.  Starting times for all NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series activities at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway will be announced once television schedules are finalized and completed.

"This event has become the cornerstone of our oval track schedule," said Mansfield Motorsports Speedway president Chris Mize.  "We work all year long to prepare for this race, but all of the hard work is well worth it when we see all of Ohio's motorsports fans show up and enjoy it.  We are already hard at work planning the 2007 race, lining up additional activities at the track and on our midway for the fans to enjoy during their visit at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway next May."

Mize believes the style of racing on the Mansfield Motorsports Speedway is reminiscent of the early days of the series.

"This is exactly the type of racing that made the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series what it is," Mize said.  "When the series started, most of the races were on short tracks.  The series has changed quite a bit since then, and the races at places like Daytona and Texas and Homestead put people on the edge of their seats.  But we are extremely happy to be able to give NASCAR fans in Ohio and all across the country a race that really is a throwback to the early days of the series.  There probably isn't a pass made here at Mansfield that doesn't include a nudge with a bumper, and very few trucks go back to their shops without some sort of battle scars.  We love it and we know the fans love it too."

Tickets are now on sale for the Ohio 250 through the track's ticket office and online at www.mansfield-speedway.com. Reserved grandstand seats range from $40 to $55, while hillside general admission tickets are $35.

"We expect the race will again be a sellout, that's why we wanted to get our tickets on sale as soon as we could," Mize said.  "We know people start to plan their holiday gift buying towards the end of October, and I can't think of a better stocking stuffer than tickets to the only national level NASCAR race in the state of Ohio."

Other events on the Mansfield Motorsports Speedway oval track schedule will be released shortly, as will construction updates for the IHRA-sanctioned drag strip being built on the eastern half of the speedway property.
